Panamagate Case: SC adjourns hearing till Monday due to Justice Azmat Saeed's ailment

Islamabad (Staff Report): Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of Panama Leaks Case till Monday due to unavailability of a bench member due to ailment.

According to details, Justice Azmat Saeed, who is one of the members of the SC bench hearing the Panama case, was taken to a hospital in Rawalpindi due to cardiac issue on Tuesday evening.

The hearing on Monday is subject to availability of Justice Azmat Saeed.

Earlier on Tuesday, a five-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, resumed hearing of Panamagate Case.

Many questions were put to Hasan and Hussain Nawaz’s lawyer regarding the London flats as the Panama Papers hearing resumed. Who owned the properties from 1993-1996? Where did the investment for the London flats come from? How did the Sharif family children maintaining residence at the property?

The lawyer of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, Salman Akram Raja, continued his arguments picking up from where he left off a day earlier.

The lawyer said that Hassan and Hussain were residing in the flats during 1993 while they were studying in London. The Sharif family children were maintaining residence at the flats by paying rent and that the property was purchased in 2006.

During the Monday's hearing, details of all gifts received and the distribution of properties among the members of the Sharif family were submitted before the bench.

The lawyer told the court that petition seeking disqualification of Ishaq Dar was submitted in Islamabad High Court (IHC) which was later dismissed by the court.

Hassan and Hussain Nawaz’s lawyer told the court that four flats in London are under Hussain Nawaz’s ownership over which, the bench remarked that reality can only be revealed after bringing facts in the court.
