Islamabad (Staff Report): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will lay foundation stone of Kurram Tangi Dam in North Waziristan today (Friday).
Kurram Tangi Dam will produce 83.4 megawatts (MW) of electricity besides storing 1.2 million acre-feet (MAF) water.
Kurram Tangi Dam will be completed in two phases. The first phase of the project will be completed in about three years.
It will also help overcome floods in the area besides bringing socio economic improvement in the area.
Kurram Tangi Dam is a low cost, environment friendly project, which will also irrigate vast areas in North Waziristan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
