Hope of justice for Pakistanis, CJP takes Suo Motu action over maid torture case

ISLAMABAD: The case settlment that sparked both controversy and disdain has at last find its way at the apex court of Pakistan because, Supreme Court Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday took notice of the incident in which a 10-year-old housemaid allegedly tortured by her employers.

Last week, police recovered the injured girl from Islamabad Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan’s house. The move came after allegations that the girl had been employed as a housemaid in violation of child labour laws and had been subjected to torture.
