PM Nawaz to attend Quadrilateral Summit CASA-1000 in Tajikistan today

Dushanbe, Tajikistan (Staff Report): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will attend the Quadrilateral Summit of Central Asia and South Asia (CASA) today along with President of Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan at Pugus Varzob Valley today.

Member states, namely Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Tajikistan will attend the summit.

The project aims at developing energy corridor and land connectivity between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It will also provide electricity produced in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Pakistani premier is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif, Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Commerce Minister Khurram Dastagir and chairperson of the National Highway Authority, among other officials.

Earlier, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon hosted a dinner in honour of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and members of his entourage in Dushanbe.
