First ever 'Robot Reporter' hired in China

Beijing (Web Desk): A Chinese state-owned news group, China Xinhua News, has hired its first ever robot reporter as an intern.

The 1.2 meter tall and less than one year old robot reporter has dubbed as ‘Inspire’. It has covered two annual sessions for Xinhua. It has been jointly developed by Xinhua and techno firms in Shanghai and Beijing.

The robot is assigned to collect big data and to conduct interviews of Big-Names.

‘Inspire’ is not the first robot reporter to get a job. In January, Chinese media outlet Southern Metropolis Daily published its first report written by robot reporter Xiao Nan.
