Election Commission restores plea seeking disqualification of PTI chairman

Islamabad (Staff Report): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today (Tuesday) has restored Hashim Ali Bhutta’s plea of seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

According to details, earlier on Tuesday, the ECP resumed the hearing regarding PTI chief’s disqualification and ordered Imran Khan to submit his reply till May 23.

Hashim Ali Bhutta filed a petition against Imran Khan and stated in his plea that Imran Khan did not mention his Bani Gala residence and London flats in his asset declaration. It also claimed that PTI chief had failed to abide by Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.

The ECP had earlier dismissed the petition because the petitioner had failed to appear at the hearing.
