FO summons Iranian ambassador over Iranian Army Chief’s ‘threats’

Islamabad (Staff Report): Pakistan Foreign ministry on Tuesday has summoned the Iranian ambassador over recent statements made by Iranian military chief.

According to details, Pakistani foreign officer expressed serious reservations over military chief’s recent statements.

Earlier on Monday, the head of the Iranian armed forces had warned Islamabad that Tehran would hit bases inside Pakistan if the government does not confront terrorists involved in cross-border attacks.

The foreign ministry stated while condemning the statements that such statements were detrimental to the bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries adding that the Iranian authorities should refrain from making such inappropriate statements that bring negative effects on the relations.
