Watch: Athletic dog and owner set new jump roping record

Shizuoka, Japan: A Japanese dog and its owner have set a new world record for most jump rope skips in a minute.

Purin, the 11-year-old beagle and her owner Makoto Kumagai beat their own previous record by an incredible 58 skips claiming the Guinness World Record for most skips by a dog and a person in one minute. The attempt took place in Ito, Shizuoka in Japan.

The pair previously set the record at 51 in May 2016, but decided to set the bar even higher after several months of practice.

According to Guinness World Record, the dog holds two other athletic records including most balls caught by a dog with its paws in one minute and fastest 10 meters traveled on a ball by a dog.
