Lahore (Web Desk): "Blue Whale" that targeted numerous youngsters across the world, the notorious self-harming suicide game has started targeting youth in Pakistan.

According to details, the notorious self-harming game is now reportedly using Whatsapp , a freeware and cross-platform instant messaging service for smartphones, to target the youth of Pakistan.

Several youngsters have reported receiving messages with the banner of ‘Blue Whale’ on their Whatsapp .

Two girls have lodged complaints at Women Protection Cell established in the office of Hyderabad Region Deputy Inspector General of Police.

On September 13, 2017, Pakistan reported its first 3 victims from the province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

Two young men from Mardan between the ages of 19 and 21 had approached him for treatment after suffering from depression while trying to complete the ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ while a similar case of a 16-year-old girl who claimed to have played the game almost to the last task, killing herself, was also reported at KTH, a psychiatrist at Peshawar’s Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) said.

Two other females students of grade 11 and grade 12 at Government Girls Degree College in Jhelum's Pind Dadan Khan were expelled from the college after they were found to have been playing the dangerous Blue Whale challenge. One of them had reached to the 18th level of the game, while the other was on the 22nd.

The government of Pakistan must take some step and issue some 24 hours hot-line for complaints regarding the game. The government should also initiate awareness raising campaigns among the guardians to keep the children away from such games.

The game reportedly consists of a series of tasks assigned to players by administrators over a 50-day period, with the final challenge requiring the player to commit suicide.

The horrific tasks include self-harming, watching horror movies and waking up at unusual hours, but these gradually get more extreme. The players are required to send videos and photos as proof that they have completed their tasks.

On the 50th day, the controlling manipulators behind the game reportedly instruct the youngsters to commit suicide.
