Dr Asim files petition for removal of name from ECL

Karachi (Staff Report): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former petroleum minster Dr Asim Hussain on Wednesday has filed a petition seeking removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) on medical grounds.

The minister has nominated Federal Interior Ministry, Sindh Home Ministry, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Inspector General Sindh A.D. Khawaja in the petition filed in the Sindh High Court.

The PPP leader stated in the petition that it is necessary for him to travel to London for treatment.

He stated that NAB had suggested Interior Ministry to include his name in the list on 24th November 2015.

Dr. Asim stated that his doctors have given him an appointment for 20th April, 2017. The petition also states that Dr. Asim’s medical condition might get worse if he is not treated on time.

Hussain requested the court to remove his name from the Exit Control List.
