Bahria Enclave incident: CJP takes suo motu notice

Islamabad (Web Desk): Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has taken a suo motu notice today (Friday), of the Bahria Enclave incident in which scores of people suffered injuries last month.

The CJP issued directives to Islamabad chief commissioner and Inspector – General of  Police (IGP) to submit an inquiry report into the incident within 48 hours.

On the night of April 28 a stage collapsed during the recording of a private TV channel show in Bahria Enclave leaving two people dead and dozens others injured.

According to details, it was claimed that instead of providing any proper medical aid to the victims, the management staff of the event escaped from the site and turned the lights off, making it difficult to carry out rescue activities, even the capital city administration allegedly seemed reluctant to take any legal action.
