Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan's proud genius only nin years old Microsoft certified Information Technology (IT) professional Arfa Karim’s 5th death anniversary is being observed today (Saturday).

The prodigy Arfa was born in Faisalabad’s Ram Divali. She was conferred the degree of Information Technology (IT) engineering by Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates in 2004.

Karim received several awards for her brilliant work. She was awarded with Pride of Performance, Salam Pakistan Youth and Madar-e-Millat awards.

A condolence reference was held on Friday to pay tribute to the young girl about whom United States’ media said, “This was another side of Pakistan”.

But the reality is that women and girls of Pakistan were the country’s biggest asset and there were many Arfa Karims here who were deprived of education and were not allowed to get out of their homes to achieve their dreams.
