Saudi Arab likely to increase Hajj/Umrah Fees  

Riyadh (Web Desk): Saudi Arabia is expected to increase its yearly revenues has commenced taking various measures, which includes the amount of Saudi Riyal two thousand that needs to be paid if one intends to do Umrah for the second time in a year.

According to details, tax would be implemented on the hotels, different accommodations, and related buildings accordingly. There are plans of opening many ziarats, which would also result in generating revenues.

Saudi government had taken a similar kind of step previously to raise its revenues however, the measure was abandoned for some time.

Every year, a total of roughly 15million or so Muslims perform Umrah and approximately 2.35 million perform Hajj per year. The number of people going to perform Hajj and Umrah from Pakistan is also increasing on per year basis. This year 1.5 million Pakistanis went for Umrah.

According to Saudi government’s 2020 visionary plan - the ‘national transformation programme’ once the Haram (which is under construction) would be expanded there would be a raise by 13percent in the count of pilgrims and the count of people coming for Umrah would increase by 13 percent.

Through this policy raised revenues prices even if by some percent would prove good for the Saudi government.
