PPP seeks approval for a welcome assemblage in Karachi

Karachi (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) submitted application to Commissioner Karachi on Tuesday to hold a welcome gathering for its co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on December 23 at Airport`s Old terminal area.

CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah after visiting the proposed site said that a deserving welcome would be given to the party chairman.

In response to the question of 15-day forced leave of IG Sindh A.D. Khawaja, CM uttered that the government reserves the right to suspend or transfer any official, some people are more interested in generating unnecessary controversies.

Later CM Murad Ali Shah discussed the security arrangements for Zardari's return to Karachi on Tuesday, during a meeting with Nisar Khuhro, Senator Saeed Ghani, Waqar Mehdi and Acting IG Sindh Police Mushtaq Meher, Commissioner Karachi and Deputy Commissioner.

CM Shah directed participants of the meeting to make arrangements for people who arrive at the airport to welcome Zardari and to make a traffic plan to prevent public from any disturbance.

During the meeting it was also decided that the former President will be transferred to Bilawal House by a helicopter, it was discussed.
