Islamabad (Staff Report): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has accepted the plea bargain of Balochistan’s former finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani over Rs 2 billion.

Raisani has confessed to the charges after which the executive board meeting (EBM) of NAB, which itself had put Mr Raisani’s corruption figure at Rs 40bn, accepted his plea bargain request for only Rs 2bn.

However, he will be suspended from his post.

On May 6, 2016 Raisani was taken into custody after a team of the NAB recovered sensitive documents and Rs603 million in cash and jewelry worth Rs 40 million during a raid at his residence.
