Zardari arrives in Karachi after 18-month self-imposed exile

Karachi (Staff Report): PPP co-chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari has arrived in Karachi after about 18 months self-imposed exile.

Senior PPP leaders including Yousuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Khursheed Shah and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah were present at the old terminal and met the former president at the VIP lounge.

Zardari also addressed the party workers, who gathered to welcome him back.

Earlier, Sindh Rangers raided multiple offices of Anwar Majeed, a close aide of Zardari, and confiscated records and detained five office bearers during raids at Anwar Majeed’s offices near Hockey Stadium, Metropole and I.I. Chundrigar Road.
