New Delhi (Online): ‘Dangal’ that hit theaters on Friday, December 23, succeeded to get the title of second highest opener of the year and the best film of 2016.

Aamir Khan’s latest heart winning ‘Dangal’ is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and technique how he trains his daughters to be wrestlers, has opened to packed houses. 
Across the country, multiplexes have reported 80-90% occupancy with domestic earnings expected to overtake the Rs 25 crore mark.

Before, the Salman Khan starrer Sultan netted a mind-boggling Rs 36.54 crore on its very first day and due to factors such as demonetisation and festive weekend, Sultan's record may remain intact.
