Lahore attack’s mastermind killed

Rawalpindi (Staff Report): After detaining several suspected terrorist in Rawalpindi, in shelling across Afghan border Pakistan Army has killed mastermind of suicide attack February 13 on Lahore’s Mall Road, during currently launched Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.

According to security sources, Pakistan Army conducted targeted strikes across the Afghan border killing two high-profile terrorists Wajihullah, alias Ahrar, and Hikmat, alias Qari Zubair, affiliated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The security sources said, Wajihullah alias Ahrar, the mastermind of recent suicide attack in Lahore, was sponsored by a hostile intelligence agency for terrorist activities in Pakistan.

On February 13, hundreds of demonstrators had gathered for a protest on Mall Road when a suicide bomber detonated himself near Lahore's Charing Cross, leaving at least 14 martyred, including senior police officers.

The security source reported, the other key figure, Hikmat alias Qari Zubair, was in-charge of a terrorist transit camp in Afghanistan and coordinated with a hostile intelligence agency for terrorist operation in Pakistan.

Pakistani military has conducted multiple surgical strikes on terrorist sanctuaries across the Pak-Afghan border, following a week of deadly terrorist attacks in the country in which over 100 people were killed. The strikes left scores of terrorists dead, who were attempting to regroup.
