Pedestrians damage Metro bus fence

Islamabad (Staff Report): Local people have broken protective grill around metro bus track for purpose of road crossings following the absence of crossing bridges in Islamabad.

According to details, the fences were erected along the track at cost of Rs220 million to keep people off the Metro track.

Despite CCTV footages, concerned authorities have still not taken any action regarding the issue.

Metro Bus Authority Chairman Hanif Abbassi denied to comment regarding this matter.

The 23km Islamabad Metro bus service was launched on 4 June 2015. The service cost Rs 45 billion. Over 135,000 passengers travel daily through 24 Metro stations, on Islamabad.
