High-level meeting of civil, military leadership discusses national security issues

Islamabad (Staff Report): A high-level meeting of civil and military leaders was held on Wednesday at the Prime Minister’s Office over various national security issues.

The high-level meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The case of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, which is ongoing in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), was the main agenda of the meeting while the premier’s recent visit to Riyadh for a security summit and other national security issues were also discussed.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Defence Minister Khwaja Asif and Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz attended the meeting.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, and the directors general of ISI, Frontier Works Organisation and military intelligence also attended the meeting.

Earlier, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Prime Minister’s House over national security and issues relating to Pakistan Army.
