Cabinet approves $150 million for COVID-19 vaccine

Islamabad: The federal cabinet on Tuesday approved allocating a sum worth $150 million for COVID-19 vaccine.

The meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, discussed the latest Covid-19 situation and the steps being taken to curb its spread. The cabinet also discussed overall political and economic situation of the country.

On Tuesday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 400,482 after 2,458 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall, 174,350 cases were reported in Sindh, 119,578 in Punjab, 47,370 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,187 in Balochistan, 30,406 in Islamabad, 4,658 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 6,933 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 8,091 with 67 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 343,286 after another 1,863 virus recoveries were reported.
