COVID-19: Pakistan reports 5,327 new cases, 32 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,430,366 on Tuesday after 5,327 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 543,170 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 480,421 in Punjab, 194,887 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 34,417 in Balochistan, 128,429 in Islamabad, 10,703 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 38,339 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 55,202 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 9.65%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 29,301with 32 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,295,390 after another 3,665 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, the NCOC on Tuesday launched door-to-door campaign to vaccinate people against COVID-19.

Addressing a news conference along with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar who also heads the NCOC, said that 55,000 teams will conduct the drive aimed at providing vaccination services at people's homes.

He said the teams would provide first, second and booster doses of the vaccine.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 379,042 million and death toll tops 5,692,415.
