Quetta Gladiators beat Peshawar Zalmi by 1 run to reach PSL 2017 final

Sharjah (Staff Report): Quetta Gladiators won nail-biting encounter against Peshawar Zalmi by one run in the first playoff of the Pakistan Super League 2017 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Sent into bat first, Shahzad scored 71 off 38 with the help of 4 sixes and 7 fours in partnership with Kevin Pietersen, who made 22-ball 40 to guide Gladiators to 200-7 in 20 overs game. Wahab Riaz took 3 wickets for 39 runs.

The match started at 09:00 PM Pakistan time, which corresponds to 08:30 PM Indian time, 05:00 GMT and 08:00 PM according to UAE time.

The winner of this game will be through to the final of the tournament, scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on March 5. The losing team will get another opportunity to secure a place in the final by facing the winner of the second playoff (Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings) on March 3.

 The second playoff will be played between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings on tomorrow (Wednesday) at the same venue.
