COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,392 new cases, 36 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 581,365 on Monday after 1,392 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 12,896 with 36 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 546,371.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has given a unanimous approval to a resolution calling for improved access to Coronavirus vaccines in conflict-hit or impoverished countries.

Welcoming the development, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the voting for vaccine equity is important and we appreciate it.

He emphasized for taking concrete steps to waive Intellectual Property for Covid-19 innovations to increase production, coverage of vaccine, and get rid of this virus.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 112.650,000 million and death toll tops 2.501,000 million.
