COVID-19: Pakistan reports less than 500 cases for first time since October 2020

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,273,560 on Monday after 482 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 470,175 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 440,259 in Punjab, 178,074 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,263 in Balochistan, 106,921 in Islamabad 10,390 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,478 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 40,621 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 1.18%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,456 with 6 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,222,559 after another 1,024 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that coronavirus vaccination campaign is successfully underway in the province.

In a statement, he said that about 1 million people are being inoculated on daily basis under Reach Every Door (RED) campaign.

Buzdar said that 18,000 teams have been deputed to make vaccination campaign successful.

He said that RED campaign will continue till November 12.

The Punjab CM appealed to the general public to cooperate with the government to eradicate corona virus and get vaccinated on priority basis.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 247.483 million and death toll tops 5,015,400.
