Islamabad (Staff Report): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawmaker and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Maleeka Ali Bokhari has denied her appointment as Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) chairperson.
“I want to categorically put it on record that I have not been appointed as Head of BISP. I am also not related to Zulfi Bokhari. I hope this suffices & should put the discussion to an end,” Maleeka wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, it emerged on media that President Dr Arif Alvi has appointed Maleeka Ali Bukhari as chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) on the advice of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The BISP is a flagship programme for eradication of poverty and elevating the status of marginalized and under-privileged sections of society, especially women, through the establishment of comprehensive social protection net.
