Cypher audio-leaks exposed Imran's 'fake conspiracy narrative': PML-N

Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) key leaders on Saturday said that the recently surfacing of the audios of former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, ex-Principal Secretary to the PM and other people about the diplomatic cypher has exposed the 'fake conspiracy narrative'.

Addressing a news conference along with other senior party leaders in Lahore, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz lashed out at the PTI chief for playing with the country’s national interest, asking him to apologise to the nation for exploiting sensitive diplomatic document, cypher, for his political gains.

The PML-N leader said that former prime minister Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence should be raided to recover the “missing” copy of a diplomatic cypher that carries the details of the purported “foreign conspiracy” against his now fallen government.

Speaking about the alleged leaked audio clips of PM Shehbaz Sharif and other government officials, Maryam said either in official or private conversations people would never find anything against the country and the nation.

“We can sacrifice our political interest for the country.”

Maryam also demanded that Imran Khan should be thrown into prison for violating the Constitution and playing with the national interest, saying “he is still a ladla (darling) of someone”.

Speaking at the start of the presser, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that Imran Khan's divisive and filthy narrative has been exposed in a recent audio leak and cipher is not a conspiracy.

Terming cipher as a secret document and the property of Prime Minister's Office (PMO), he said that the PTI chief is responsible for this serious security breach.

Expressing displeasure over the poor performance of PTI in last four years, Ishaq Dar lamented that all the macroeconomic indicators of Pakistan showed desperate performance and country ranked as below to 50th economy worldwide in 2034.

He further pledged to steer the country out of the mammoth challenges as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is making his best efforts to tackle the challenges in an effective manner.

The minister said that that due to the prudent steps taken by the coalition government, appreciation of rupee is being witnessed against dollar. Resultantly, a significant reduction of country's loan has been observed.

Dar expressed the resolve to provide maximum relief to the general public in coming weeks.

Earlier today, important meeting of PML-N leaders was held at party president and PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Model Town residence in Lahore to deliberate on ‘missing cypher’ controversy and legal matters pertaining to the return of party supremo Nawaz Sharif from London.

Senior PML-N leaders including Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb and others attended the meeting, presided over by the premier.

During the meeting, various options were considered to give relief to the inflation-stricken people.

Moreover, the PML-N leaders also discussed options for an in-house change in the Punjab Assembly and upcoming by-elections.
