Munir Akram takes charge as Pakistan’s envoy to UN

Islamabad (Web Desk): Newly appointed Munir Akram took charge as Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) on Saturday.

Lat month, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday approved appointment of Munir Akram as Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN.

Akram replaces outgoing ambassador Dr Maleeha Lodhi who served as Pakistan's envoy to the UN from 2015 to 2019.

Akram has served as Pakistan's permanent representative to the UN previously as well, holding the office for six years between 2002 and 2008.
