COVID-19: Pakistan reports 457 new cases, 10 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,274,017 on Tuesday after 457 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 470,421 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 440,378 in Punjab, 178,135 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,267 in Balochistan, 106,945 in Islamabad 10,390 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,481 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 39, 296 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 1.16%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,466 with 10 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,222,987 after another 428 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, the drive to inoculate entire population against COVID-19 continues across the country besides implementation of instructions regarding unvaccinated individuals.

No unvaccinated person is being served the certain essential services like travelling, shopping and education in the country, the Radio Pakistan reported.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 247.906 million and death toll tops 5,021,613.
