PML-N clears way for Nawaz to reelect as party head

Islamabad (Staff Report): The central working committee (CWC) of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has approved an amendment in party’s constitution, allowing a disqualified member parliament to lead the party.

CWC meeting held on Monday under the chair of party’s interim president Sardar Yaqub Nasir at Punjab House. The CWC unanimously accepted the amendment.

The PML-N members also endorsed a resolution forwarded by Climate Change Minister Senator Mushahidullah Khan.

Nawaz Sharif had to quit both as the Prime Minister of Pakistan as well as the president PML-N following his disqualification by the Supreme Court in the Panama case.
