Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former premier Imran Khan on Friday said that he was ready to talk with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir for "the betterment of the country" but it seemed that he (incumbent army chief) considered him an enemy.
Speaking to reports at his residence in Lahires' Zaman Park, the PTI chief said that he had no quarrel with the establishment but if someone thinks that I will kneel down then it will not happen.
"No one is willing to talk so what should I do?” he said.
Speaking about cases against him, Imran said the government cannot prove a single corruption charge against him and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Khan even challenged the incumbent army chief to prove any corruption case against him and his wife.
The former premier also accused General (retd) Qamar Jawed Bajwa of “backstabbing” him, lamenting that the former COAS had spoken against Moscow right after he had gone there for a visit following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Responding a query regarding his recent trip to Islamabad when he was due to be present in four courts, Khan said that the decision to travel to the capital by road, instead of air, was made late at night.
"There was news that they wanted to arrest me from the airport and take me to Balochistan," the PTI chief said.
The PTI chief expressed concerns that he was facing danger from those who should protect him.
Speaking about the polls, Khan suggested that expenditures could be reduced if "general elections" were held at once.
The former premier claimed that the PTI would win the elections despite the "umpires siding with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)".
Responding another question regarding party's candidate for the office of chief minister, the PTI chief said there would be “bloodshed” if he finalises the name right now.
"Even women who had been elected on reserved seats, also wanted to be considered as candidates for the post of the Punjab CM", the PTI chief said.
