JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to head Pakistan Democratic Movement

Islamabad (Web Desk): Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been made president of opposition parties’ Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

The decision was taken during the virtual meeting of the PDM attended by all member parties on Saturday.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s name was proposed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and all the parties of the alliance agreed.

Speaking to the participants of the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman called for inking a new Misaq-e-Jamhuriat, (Charter of Democracy) adding that no party will deviate from it once it is signed.

It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had earlier announced to hold its first public gathering in Quetta on October 11.

The opposition parties had formed the PDM at a meeting of earlier this month.
