COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,377 new cases, 161 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 837,523 on Tuesday after 3,377 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 286,521 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 308,529 in Punjab, 120,590 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,664 in Balochistan, 76,492 in Islamabad, 5,330 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 17,397 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 18,310 with 161 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 733,062 after another 5,018 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Minister for Planning Asad Umar on Tuesday said it is the first time that over one hundred and sixty four thousand people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in a single day on Monday.

In a post on Twitter, the minister said the vaccination process of people aged forty and above was also started yesterday across the country.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 152.534 million and death toll tops 3.198 million.
