COAS calls for solution of Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday said that resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the United Nations (UN) Resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region.

In a post on Twitter, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar shared a message of the COAS on the occasion of Kashmir Exploitation Day.

The Army Chief said that continuation of inhuman military siege, machinations to bring demographic changes and gross violations of human rights and international laws are perpetuating humanitarian and security crises in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) that imperils regional security.

“The situation poses a serious threat to the security of the region,” COAS Bajwa said, adding that resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the (UN Resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region.

It is pertinent o mention that Youm-e-Istehsal is being observed across the country to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people on completion of two years of military siege of IIOJK.

On August 5, 2019, Modi fascist regime in an illegal and unilateral step had scrapped the special constitutional status of IIOJK.

In order to denounce the Indian unilateral illegal actions against Kashmiri people as well as the atrocities being carried out by the Indian forces in occupied territory, various events including solidarity walks have been arranged in the main cities of the country.
