Two women among six injured in Peshawar blast

Peshawar (Staff Report): At least six people including two women were injured in a blast in Kali Bari market in Saddar area of Peshawar on Saturday morning.

As per initial reports by police, the explosive material was installed in a car parked near a mosque. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.

Police added that the nearby shops were also damaged owing to the impact of the blast. However, most of the shops were closed at the time of the blast.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. According to hospital authorities, all the injured were out of danger.

The law enforcers and bomb disposal squad rushed to the site of the blast and cordoned off the area.

Talking to newsmen, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Qazi Jameel said that eighth to ten kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast.

The CCPO added that a white car was used in the blast and the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras footage will tell us where the car came from.

Moreover, Minister for Health and Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Shaukat Ali Yousafzai condemned the attack. He said that the motive behind the blast seems to create panic in the area that is generally peaceful and has not been affected by any major incidents recently.
