COVID-19: Pakistan reports 515 new cases, 11 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,275, 673 on Friday after 515 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 471,205 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 440,788 in Punjab, 178,427 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,307 in Balochistan, 107,063 in Islamabad, 10,392 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,491in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 44,148 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 1.16%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,507 with 11 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,224,425 after another 340 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a technical supplementary grant worth $190 million to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 249.450 million and death toll tops 5,047,588.
