Rangers withdraw security of parliament

Islamabad (Staff Report): Frontier Constabulary on Thursday took over the security of parliament house after Rangers withdrew its personnel deployed for the security of the parliament.

The Rangers took the step two days after Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal lambasted deployment of its troops at an accountability court without the permission of the civil administration.

The FC personnel is mandated to assist police and elite force in providing security at the entry/exit of the parliament, and its checking points.

On October 2, Rangers personnel disallowed Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal from entering the accountability court. The minister arrived as the court conducted hearing of three NAB references filed against Nawaz Sharif.
