Pakistan observes World Teachers' Day

Islamabad (Web Desk): World Teachers Day was observed around the globe including Pakistan on Saturday to highlight role of teacher in development of the country and society.

World Teachers’ Day is observed annually on October 5.

To celebrate World Teachers’ Day, the UNESCO and Education International (EI) mounts a campaign each year, to help give the world better understanding of teachers and the role they play in the development of students and society.

The theme of the Day this year was “Young Teachers: The future of the Profession.”

Different events including, walks and workshops were organised in different parts of the country to pay tributes to the teachers for their immense contributions to the society.

In his message on this occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said it is among the priorities of Naya Pakistan to ensure the standing and worth of teachers in the society.

"Teachers are benefactors of nation who play the role of ladder in its success," the PM said.

Prime Minister Khan paid rich tributes to all great personalities that are called architects of the bright future of nation.

He eulogized the services of all persons associated with sacred profession of teaching who are striving to light the candle of knowledge and in building the character of younger generation.

"It is a great honourr to be associated with the profession of prophets," the PM asserted.
