LEAs search hotel in Jhelum owned by London attacker’s family

Jhelum (Staff Report): Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Tuesday conducted a search of a hotel in Jhelum owned by family members of Pakistani-born London attacker, Khuram Shazad Butt, and searched it thoroughly.

As per details, police along with Counter-Terrorism Department and Special Security Branch officials searched the restaurant belonging to Butt’s uncle.

‘The operation was a precautionary measure after the attacker’s link to Pakistan was uncovered by investigator said the sources but suggested that Butt was not ‘radicalised’ in Pakistan, and his family was not linked to religious parties.

London’s Metropolitan Police identified one attacker was 27-years-old Khuram Shazad Butt, a British citizen born in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Paksitan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry deplored attempts to tie Khurram Butt with Jhelum city.
