Nehal Hashmi withdraws his resignation from Senate

Islamabad (Staff Report): PML-N leader Nehal Hashmi on Tuesday withdrew his resignation from the Senate after a meeting with Chairman Raza Rabbani.

Hashmi submitted a written application seeking withdrawal of his resignation.

Hashmi’s resignation from Senate came after a video of his emerged in which he was allegedly issuing threatening statements to judiciary and Panamagate JIT.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had taken suo motu notice of Hashmi's controversial speech and ordered to open a contempt of court case against the senator.

On Sunday, police had registered a case against Nehal Hashmi over charges of using threatening language against the judiciary, public servants and disrupting judicial proceedings.
