Panama (Web Desk): At least 18 dead and 37 injured while a bus carrying farm workers went off a highway and ended up in a stream in southwest of Panama's capital, authorities said.

According to the details of the authorities, the crash happened on the Pan-American Highway in Anton, about 105 miles (170 kilometers) from Panama City. However the cause of the accident is not known yet.

The bus was carrying more than 50 workers, including dead and injured, authorities said. Sixteen died at the scene and two died later at the hospital. Another person remained in critical condition, Civil Defense Director Jose Donderis said.

Government spokesman Manuel Dominguez reported via Twitter that the dead were all adult males.

The local media shared photos, showed the white bus in a creek at the bottom of a ravine below a bridge.
