COVID-19: Pakistan reports 467 new infections, 6 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 300,616 on Tuesday after another 780 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 315,727 after 467 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 138,593 cases were reported in Sindh, 100,033 in Punjab, 38,105 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,420 in Balochistan, 16,845 in Islamabad, 3,857 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 2,874 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,525 with 6 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Sindh health department stated that COVID-19 hotspots in Karachi rose to 26 as cases of the novel infection continue to rise across the city.

Karachi district central's hotspot areas rose to eight in the city whereas four areas from district Malir have been declared as hotspots. Five areas each of the city's district Korangi and East have been included in the COVID-19 hotspot areas.

Two areas each of district south and district west were included among the coronavirus hotpot areas.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 35.6 million and death toll tops 1.04 million.
