Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 420,294 on Monday after 3,795 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
Overall, 184,486 cases were reported in Sindh, 123,762 in Punjab, 49,676 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,466 in Balochistan, 32,816 in Islamabad, 4,732 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 7,356 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 8,398 with 37 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 356,542 after another 1,530 virus recoveries were reported.
Meanwhile, Foreign Officer (FO) Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that Russia has offered to provide its Covid-10 vaccine to Pakistan.
He added that the proposal has been forwarded to the health ministry. The health ministry is looking at the vaccine's efficacy, regulations and results, he said.
The FO spokesperson said that the government is in contact with multiple sources to ensure "timely acquisition of Covid-19 vaccine".
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 67 million and death toll tops 1.5 million.
