COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,490 new cases, 58 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 933,630 on Monday after 1,490 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 323,828 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 342,498 in Punjab, 134,558 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 25,819 in Balochistan, 81,766 in Islamabad, 5,642 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 19,519 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per National Command and Operation (NCOC) data, 49,285 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained 3.02%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 21,323 with 58 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 864,931 after another 1,820 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, all public and private educational institutions from secondary and above have opened in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from today (Monday).

The schools, colleges and universities have been directed to strictly implement the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 172.630 million and death toll tops 3.718 million.
