FIR registered against Qureshi, Fawad for 'inciting hate' against state institutions

Lahore (Web Desk): A case was registered against senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday for allegedly inciting hatred against state institutions.

According to details, the first information report (FIR) was registered on the complaint of Sub-inspector Waseem in the Race Course Police Station of Lahore.

As per the FIR, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood  Qureshi and Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry conducted a press conference at Zaman Park in Lahore with unidentified party workers in which they provoked people to carry out violence.

The FIR said that the canal road was blocked and people faced difficulties while commuting.

It added that Fawad Chaudry delivered a provocative and infuriating speech and also tried to spur agitation among people against the state institutions.

The FIR also mentioned that Fawad accused state institutions of hatching an assassination plot against PTI chief Imran Khan.

The charges in the FIR include roadblocks, intimidation, and agitative speeches.
