Bodies of 40 Tezgam Train fire victims handed over to families

Rahim Yar Khan (Staff Report/Agencies): Bodies of at least 40 people who lost their lives in Tezgam Train fire incident has been handed over to their families.

As per details, the Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) management handed over the bodies to their families and relatives after receiving their DNA test reports from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA).

Last week, at least 74 people including women and children were killed when three bogies of a Tezgam train caught fire near Liaqatpur city.

The train was bound from Karachi to Rawalpindi. The fire was caused by a cylinder blast that occurred in the morning when passengers were preparing their breakfast.

The fire destroyed three of the train’s carriages, including two economy class carriages and one business class.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his grief over the incident and sought a report into the incident.
