PTI's long march to resume from November 10: Shah Mahmmod Qureshi

Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday said that the party will resume its long march from Wazirabad on Thursday (November 10).

He said this while speaking to workers at Imran Khan's residence in Lahore's Zaman Park.

This is the third time that the PTI has changed the date of the long march.

Earlier, it was announced that the march will be resumed on Tuesday, November 8 but later the date was changed to Wednesday, November 9.

In a tweet, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had announced that the party’s long march to Islamabad will resume from Wednesday at 2pm from Wazirabad.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that "my long march will achieve the target under any circumstances."

Speaking to the representatives of media bodies, the PTI chief said that the party would back off only after getting the date for general elections.

The former premier ruled out any compromise with Pakistan Peopoles Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.

"PTI's Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Secretary-General Asad Umar will lead the party's long mark," Khan said.

Khan said that the personnel of the armed forces standing guard on the borders were like his "children" and that going against the institution was not an option for the party.

PTI's Azadi March” halted on November 3 in Wazirabad after Imran Khan and several party members were injured while a party activist was killed in firing incident at former premier's container.

PTI Senator Faisal Javed, party leaders Umar Dar and Ahmed Chattah, were also among the people injured in the incident while a citizen, identified as 42-year-old Moazzam, died on the spot.
