Lahore (Web Desk): China has opposed proposal of the United States in Security Council of United Nations Organisation to declare chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad, Masood Azhar a global terrorist.
The proposal was finalised by the US and India but Beijing’s opposition has put the proposal on hold for six months which can extend by another three months while can be blocked anytime in the meanwhile.
It should be mentioned here that Jaish-e-Mohammad was earlier banned by the 15-member Security Council but Azhar was not banned. However, proposal of the US seeking ban on Azhar has the support of Britain and France.
Reacting to the development, Indian foreign minister said that the issue has been raised with Chinese government.
