COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,383 new cases, 53 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 935,013 on Tuesday after 1,383 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 324,535 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 342,805 in Punjab, 134,781 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 25,893 in Balochistan, 81,806 in Islamabad, 5,655 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 19,538 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per National Command and Operation (NCOC) data, 46,882 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained 2.94%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 21,376 with 53 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 867,447 after another 2,516 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Vaccination against COVID-19 has been made mandatory by the Sindh government after it relaxed coronavirus restrictions across the province this week.

All organisations, offices and businesses have been given two weeks to get their employees and staff vaccinated.

After the two weeks are up, random checks will take place.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 173.005 million and death toll tops 3.727 million.
