Global Covid-19 cases cross 12 million, death toll tops 552,200

New York (Web Desk): The worldwide number of Covid-19 cases has crossed 12.1 million while the pandemic has claimed more than 552,204 lives.

The United States (US) tops both in number of cases and deaths with over 3.1 million cases and more than 134, 867 deaths followed by Brazil with over 1,713,160 million cases and more than 67,964 deaths.

Over 7.07 million patients have so far recovered from the disease across the world.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has acknowledged that there is emerging evidence that Covid-19 can be spread by tiny particles in the air.

Earlier, the WHO had said that the virus is transmitted through droplets when people cough or sneeze.
This may affect guidelines for indoor spaces if the evidence is confirmed.
